IR SENDER / RECEIVER Scottsdale Technologies, Program Master # KC-15S A hand-held infrared remote control device, probably designed to be upgradeable via the internet. We don't know if they are in current use, but they contain some useful parts and may be the basis for IR remote projects. They operate on two AAA cells (not included). When button is pressed LED lights green, then turns red. Inside are two IR emitter LEDs and one L14C1 IR phototransistor on a PC board with a crystal, ceramic oscillator and other components.

5.25: long pc board has mounted on it, two infrared LEDs and one photodiode in TO-18 metal packages. Attached to the pc board is a 3' long piece of shielded 10 conductor ribbon cable with a dial row 2 x 5 pin socket connector on one end.

This tadpole-shaped device contains a Sharp GPU57X infrared receiver module. The GPU57X operates on 5 VDC at 2ma and is designed for use with TV's, VCR's, audio equipment, etc. It contains a PIN diode and a receiving preamplifier IC and has a built-in voltage regulator circuit. The IR eyeball is a very cool-looking gray plastic tapered oval with a semi-transparent red window. It is 1.5" dia. x 0.9" high, flat on the bottom, rounded on top with a 6' cord terminted with a stereo 3.5 mm phone plug.

As used in systems by Niles, Jamo Custom, etc. LED in housing with self-adhesive backing, with a 4' cable terminated in 2.5mm mini plug. Universal applications.
