Brand new Proctor 51400 Telephone Test Set. Original cost was over $7500.
Tests a wide variety of telephone types, including: all single line phones, standard 6-, 10-, and
20-button key phones, and coin phones (with options).
CONTINUITY TEST checks the telephone's tip and ring leads, from the line
cord plug, through the hookswitch, to the instrument network.
INSULATION TEST checks for short circuits and leaks between tip, ring, and
ground to case, and also from tip and ring.
HOOKSWITCH TEST checks proper operation of the receiver hookswitch contacts.
TRANSMISSION TEST checks the telephone's transmitter, receiver, and
sidetone characteristics.
DIAL TEST checks rotary dial telephone and tone dial telephones with normal
and reversed loop connections. Speed ratio, pulse count, and contact spark
suppression are measured in rotary dials. Tone dials are tested for
presence of parasitic oscillations for proper frequency and level, of both
the High and Low tones, and twist.
